One of Harv’s aims is to publish.creative.writing with emphasis on coherence, ie,
coherence: noun: 1. the quality of being logical and consistent. 2. the quality of forming a unified whole. New Oxford American Dictionary. iPad Look Up function.
His lifetime is on a journey of ever shorter remainder — that invokes focus for his remaining choices to be optimized ‘correctly’ — he wants to selfishly not to lose Happy Harv with mistakes. He feels that his choices are to rely on continued if not enhanced critical thinking.
A direct approach is chosen in disregard for pop psychology distractions, especially vivid in the elderly who have an increased presence as he ages, and his relatively ‘weak’ support group. He needs to sharpen his critical thinking via write (read, skim, muse, blog, publish, writings, then read … again and again).
Harv’s senses, just like all humans, gather information to form concepts originally — then the concepts are tested ever after — confirmed or changed to enhance clarity. His concept quality measure from below is clarity. “He looks for clarity from his self and his world. Thus his publish.creative.writing function strives for clarity
Critical thinking — these study notes are a ‘thing’ as well as a ‘verb-noun-action self function’ —
Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual values that transcend subject matter divisions: clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth, breadth, and fairness. It entails the examination of those structures or elements of thought implicit in all reasoning: purpose, problem, or question-at-issue; assumptions; concepts; empirical grounding; reasoning leading to conclusions; implications and consequences; objections from alternative viewpoints; and frame of reference. Critical thinking — in being responsive to variable subject matter, issues, and purposes — is incorporated in a family of interwoven modes of thinking, among them: scientific thinking, mathematical thinking, historical thinking, anthropological thinking, economic thinking, moral thinking, and philosophical thinking. Critical thinking can be seen as having two components: 1) a set of information and belief generating and processing skills, and 2) the habit, based on intellectual commitment, of using those skills to guide behavior. It is thus to be contrasted with: 1) the mere acquisition and retention of information alone, because it involves a particular way in which information is sought and treated; 2) the mere possession of a set of skills, because it involves the continual use of them; and 3) the mere use of those skills ("as an exercise") without acceptance of their results. Critical thinking varies according to the motivation underlying it. When grounded in selfish motives, it is often manifested in the skillful manipulation of ideas in service of one’s own, or one's groups’, vested interest. As such it is typically intellectually flawed, however pragmatically successful it might be. When grounded in fairmindedness and intellectual integrity, it is typically of a higher order intellectually, though subject to the charge of "idealism" by those habituated to its selfish use. Critical thinking of any kind is never universal in any individual; everyone is subject to episodes of undisciplined or irrational thought. Its quality is therefore typically a matter of degree and dependent on, among other things, the quality and depth of experience in a given domain of thinking or with respect to a particular class of questions. No one is a critical thinker through-and-through, but only to such-and-such a degree, with such-and-such insights and blind spots, subject to such-and-such tendencies towards self-delusion. For this reason, the development of critical thinking skills and dispositions is a life-long endeavor. A statement by Michael Scriven & Richard Paul, presented at the 8th Annual International Conference on Critical Thinking and Education Reform, Summer 1987. Critical thinking is self-guided, self-disciplined thinking which attempts to reason at the highest level of quality in a fair-minded way. People who think critically consistently attempt to live rationally, reasonably, empathically. They are keenly aware of the inherently flawed nature of human thinking when left unchecked. They strive to diminish the power of their egocentric and sociocentric tendencies. They use the intellectual tools that critical thinking offers – concepts and principles that enable them to analyze, assess, and improve thinking. They work diligently to develop the intellectual virtues of intellectual integrity, intellectual humility, intellectual civility, intellectual empathy, intellectual sense of justice and confidence in reason. They realize that no matter how skilled they are as thinkers, they can always improve their reasoning abilities and they will at times fall prey to mistakes in reasoning, human irrationality, prejudices, biases, distortions, uncritically accepted social rules and taboos, self-interest, and vested interest. They strive to improve the world in whatever ways they can and contribute to a more rational, civilized society. At the same time, they recognize the complexities often inherent in doing so. They avoid thinking simplistically about complicated issues and strive to appropriately consider the rights and needs of relevant others. They recognize the complexities in developing as thinkers, and commit themselves to life-long practice toward self-improvement. They embody the Socratic principle: The unexamined life is not worth living , because they realize that many unexamined lives together result in an uncritical, unjust, dangerous world. Linda Elder, September, 2007 Everyone thinks; it is our nature to do so. But much of our thinking, left to itself, is biased, distorted, partial, uninformed or down-right prejudiced. Yet the quality of our life and that of what we produce, make, or build depends precisely on the quality of our thought. Shoddy thinking is costly, both in money and in quality of life. Excellence in thought, however, must be systematically cultivated. Critical thinking is that mode of thinking - about any subject, content, or problem - in which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully taking charge of the structures inherent in thinking and imposing intellectual standards upon them. https://www.criticalthinking.org/pages/defining-critical-thinking/766
A well cultivated critical thinker:
- raises vital questions and problems, formulating them clearly and precisely;
- gathers and assesses relevant information, using abstract ideas to interpret it effectively comes to well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, testing them against relevant criteria and standards;
- thinks openmindedly within alternative systems of thought, recognizing and assessing, as need be, their assumptions, implications, and practical consequences; and
- communicates effectively with others in figuring out solutions to complex problems.
Critical thinking is, in short, self-directed, self-disciplined, self-monitored, and self-corrective thinking. It presupposes assent to rigorous standards of excellence and mindful command of their use. It entails effective communication and problem solving abilities and a commitment to overcome our native egocentrism and sociocentrism. Self. It’s no mystery, considering the above underlines, why Harv studies his SELF, and why he seeks to write better and better till death do us part.
In 2024, Harv enhances his write.work.life.flow by creating a Disney World ‘write cabin’ environment, away from the COA environment but not replacing COA — however, he changed / withdrew his COA personal participation / cooperation. But, his intensity for write has become more achieved / more optimized.
…With better writing, he moves on to … And creates an instantiation of closure with challenge, as opposed to moving on quickly to a new challenge without closure (pop psychology “overrunning”).
…He may attempt integration with his self-organization precedence network.
…He moves this off of the ‘2025 caldron’ page.
…He expands his awareness of Walt Disney. Harv’s write flowered at Disney World 2024.
Walt Disney's philosophy revolves around the boundless power of imagination and its role in shaping the world. Example: He once said, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them,” highlighting how imagination fuels the pursuit of dreams. “I am not Walt Disney. I do a lot of things Walt Disney would not do. Walt Disney does not smoke. I smoke. Walt Disney does not drink. I drink” (Calia). This revealing quote from Walt Disney illustrates the difference between his public wholesome image and his actual self. It is indeed irresistible to look behind the curtain at the man behind the Disney Corporation and his image. Author Marc Eliot’s 1994 critical and heavily criticized biography, Walt Disney: Hollywood’s Dark Prince, is a prime example of such an effort to look behind the curtain. https://fascinatingpolitics.com/2022/04/23/the-politics-of-walt-disney-truth-and-myth/

He sees his mind as producing ideas. Many of those ideas offer choices to his self. But many ideas come with instant action choices (impulsive behavior) which are relayed seemingly instantly into the human system -- like breath and pulse done without choice.
Where choice is offered, for example -- if not in a panic, the non-impulsive human system can take time to consider alternative action, in some instances to 'sleep on the alternatives' (think further), or to delay action for various reasons -- a judgement as to -- 'too big a change or endeavor' ... or simply not comfortable with the action-risk.
As action takes place, bigger life patterns are made aware. However, some actions and their patterns are imperceptible to the mind's human system like digestion and breath, yet they are implicitly necessary for human system support. Other actions are consciously marked as lifetime events, or otherwise considered as actualization or a life-flow pattern. Harv calls that history pattern the me-self (Meade).
Further actualization and life-flow direction can be directed as growing from the me-self into another iteration of the me-self. In Harv's case in his 86th year, he has come to choosing only Blogger publishing and death to be his final life-flow actions as of 2024jan.
In macro, Harv's me-self portrayal removed the writer's block of personal inability to 'see' the way he was to actualize writing.

The building of a me-self statement comes from the choices arising from the I-self (Meade). In Harv's definition, the "I" chooses the action that brings about further me-self events and actualizations, thus creating yet another-me-self iteration, repeated until that particular human system quits.
The choice process from idea to action can be seen as the work of the I-self, that is, I choose and the me-self is the resultant history (within the we-self relationship/dependency).

2024jan23.. self-help. Changing our behaviors [that is, action] can feel like a monumental task. We pressure ourselves to go big v go back 'home'. Not surprisingly, these big expectations are often unrealistic, and that's a recipe for disappointment and self-criticism. Instead, we should think small — as in tiny behaviors that can become habits. The idea is to make these behavior changes so small that they're easy to do, according to BJ Fogg, a behavior scientist at Stanford University and author of the new book Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything. https://www.npr.org/2020/02/25/809256398/tiny-habits-are-the-key-to-behavioral-change
