Harv seems fit to maintain his driving ability for some years to come — and thus his ability to car-live.
2024+ Disney World write cabin
Harv created his Disney World feel of “a king in heaven”, taking the train from DeBary to Orlando Lynx Central then the express bus from Lynx Central to Disney Springs. Walking through Disney Springs to s Disney bus to deliver him to the All Star Sports Resort, then another walk to the ‘Disney World’ McDonald’s on Osceola Parkway that runs through the south of Disney World. The McD atmosphere affords Harv his write cabin for the day sipping diet Coke spiked with fruit punch. End of day reverses back to DeBary and his car-living. The train does not run on weekends thus Harv drives the I4 toll lanes directly to McD. In-car nights are spent at the Osceola Parkway east Kissimmee Walmart with Murphy gas, a variety of lit parking lots, and a McD. Friday night and Saturday evening meals are spent at Cici’s close to the west Kissimmee Walmart but they don’t allow overnight parking, thus a half dozen extra miles to the east.
Harv seems fit to maintain his driving ability for some years to com.

Car-living in Four Townes, Florida parking nightly at the Orange City Park-n-Ride lit lot with trash pickup and maintenance provided by FDOT.
COA provided past friction for Harv. His Disney creation was not a direct result of COA friction, but fortuitous in the coincidence. The COA friction was closely paralleled to the COA cancelation of member internet connectivity contrary to a ten year history where COA GAVE full laptops to members ! Harv through his own volunteering got a bad rap in COA, not to be forgiven as internet was restored for member use. Also in parallel, Harv was able to provide his self with 24/7 Tmobile connectivity via in-car ‘home’ 5G service.
Harv has not fully cleaned up his COA crumbs, but he has delimited COA to dining only and still signs in on activity sheets as “Otto COMPUTING” — that has not for perhaps fives years been a COA activity and ‘computing’ has not been actively promoted. In ultra simplistic terms, COA caters to the “Bingo mentality” — thus Harv risking self scourge, says with a smile, “I hate old people.” Thusly, he does not fit-in at COA — COA is almost like kid’s stuff with jealousy, boredom, whining, and complains which drive COA administration.
Thus comes a sobering question for Harv, “Where does Harv’s life-activity fit?”
In conjunction with his most recent (2024) post-PhD publication/write efforts, he has come to the Disney write-cabin re-creation of his self-interest and self-esteem fulfillment. His “king in heaven” Disney World feel has been proceeding for eights weeks —

Pauline had her family at the house during Harv's vacation several-day bicycle trip across MO, from Olathe KS across the Mississippi River bridge at Alton IL. In her own words below she encouraged a lock on my door during my vacation and also had some nice compliments before my departure to assist daughter Susan in Ohio. Although I was there every evening and night, I would frequently hike, bicycle, do errands. (Judy was her only-child-daughter.) I took Pauline on her errands in her car -- she loved to eat. I sat her dogs while she was in the hospital -- even took her dogs to visit her during her hospital recuperation.
Pauline and Harv had a parting discussion and she agreed to put a few parting words on paper:
1995 Rented room in KCMO home, played Bridge, did minor fix-up, danced at 'The Singles' Marketplace', umpired softball.
1994 Lived in Atchison KS apartment, umpired, commuted to KS City for 'The Singles' Marketplace', a church outreach.
1989-1990 Rented apartment Atchison KS, taught at Benedictine College. Son Chris visited Dover, we bicycled there, and we drove to KS together.
1988-1989 Rented apartment Dover DE, taught at Wesley College. Mother Connie drove along from Columbus OH to Dover DE.

From youth on, Harv was made aware of the hermit. Although the usual definition is "a person living in solitude", there is another definition: "a hummingbird found in the shady lower layers of tropical forests, foraging along a regular route."(OAD) HERMIT: noun: 1 a person living in solitude as a religious discipline. • any person living in solitude or seeking to do so. 2 a hummingbird found in the shady lower layers of tropical forests, foraging along a regular route.
As Harv moves his lifestyle into a later 'oldest-of-the-old' Real Retirement, he leans away from the strict-hermit definition to the hummingbird-hermit definition consuming the universal ERG (existence, relatedness, growth hierarchy) needs along a regular route.
The changed leaning of his Real Retirement image then becomes one of easy flight, of hovering at will, and of low-hanging fruit -- like car-living, financial liquidity, continuing technical prowess and contacts, and in a mild climate for sub-tropical "peace-in-the-park", like nature greenery.
"This website publication has become Harv's writer style -- a sort-of tome attempting to organize the chaotic nature of his thoughts. He sees it as an expression of who he is, a model of sorts, and the modeling that he does here facilitates 'into whom he may grow' -- especially to be more-organized of his life time hours and his lifetime. Some may see that as high expectations, which may be his fatal flaw -- scary.
Until "peace be had by all," he wishes joy-love-freeing to all, within the universal human needs fulfillment activity of existence, relatedness, growth activities. How does he grow? He works at it in the spirit of Benjamin Franklin in Poor Richard's Almanac where Ben writes "The harder I work, the luckier I get." ... stay tuned.
Harv still conjures non-car-living retirement with family beyond his current Real Retirement epoc.
Perhaps his life-book glimmer; "85 years of Hermitage 1938-2023." End of 2023may30 thought superseded by jun-july.
